None of the other Knights answered Caldonius' query as they reached the remains of Charon's office, and he hadn't expected them to. The twelve-hour trip back to Saklar had left all of them on edge (with the possible exception of Serafin, who Caldonius suspected was constantly teetering on said edge when Lyph wasn't about); the state of Diem's office had done little to allay their fears. The building had been destroyed, with no sign of their commander, their Charon, or any others about.

"I think Sammy's shield is up," Zygy said after a moment. "There's at least one with him... I think...."

Xaotlestis Armand (also known as Raotani Xaotl) is immortal.

His wife Izumrud... was not.

And so, shortly before her death, Xaotl promised that he would always find her next incarnation, no matter how far he has to travel or how long he has to wait.

And he does.

All races (c) to owners, with special note of Memitim and Bemy belonging to *tenor and *GundamZero respectively. Oh, and that He-zum in the bottom left corner is probably from this story by ~toranekohybrid. Izum and Xaotl are of course mine. ^^
